Ok, so most of you have heard that I started out thinking I was going to major in English – mainly because I was good at it and it was easy. Then I realized that I hated writing, even though I was good at it. So I changed my mind. But I think in the past few weeks I’ve made it pretty clear that I actually really enjoy writing – I wouldn’t write in my blog so often if I hated writing. So I must just hate writing about someone else’s subjects on someone else’s timeline. Which now that I think about it makes a lot more sense. Ta-da! My epiphany of the day – I don’t hate writing!
So I just realized…
What a song to get stuck in your head…
and yes this really is stuck in my head right now for some reason, so I thought I’d share. I think it popped up because I was thinking about high school.

Ok, so normally I just watch the cartoons on Odd Todd, but today I actually poked around, and found this! Personally the second place one is my favorite, and I might have to copy the idea.
Vay-kay-shun! Woo!
Is there ever such a thing as enough vacation? The drive down on Saturday was quiet and we only got going about 1/2 hour later than I was aiming for – which is fairly good for me when I’m rushing around making sure I’m all ready for whatever long trip I’m off on. Surprisingly, I only slept for about an hour during the whole trip. Normally long car rides knock me out. I guess the good company helped. So I actually ended up going through a bunch of the magazines I brought. Just a little less clutter left to get rid of.
Once we got to EA’s place I made CS watch her Happy Tree Friends dvd. Then EA & I caught up on Making Fiends while CS napped – he did drive the whole way. We killed some time torturing a hamster on Joe Cartoon and went out to dinner at the Elephant Bar – which was so noisy I didn’t hear my phone ring with DN called me back.
Luckily he’s supposed to be coming up this coming weekend. Yay!
We didn’t wake up nearly as early as we briefly considered – leaving around 7:30? Hah! But we made good time getting EA’s classmate and going to her guy’s place and EA’s guy drove us in his very very nice car. We ended up parting ways as EA waited for some San Diego friends to get there. CS & I grabbed a FastPass for Indiana Jones and then went and rode Pirates of the Caribbean – my first time! Although I have seen the movie and I ate at the Blue Lagoon my first time to Disneyland. It was cool, although I’ll say this about all the dark ones – my night vision isn’t awesome so I felt like I was missing some of the details, but I guess that’s just one way to keep people coming back for more. The dog was my favorite part.
We then went on to the Haunted Mansion…. which I think I maybe might have possibly gone on the first time I was there, but I didn’t remember much. It wouldn’t have mattered anyway as they completely changed it to a Nightmare Before Christmas theme, which I enjoyed, but CS missed the old version. The new one is definitely a more kid friendly, less scary version. Although we did have to avoid the crying kid who was freaked out already in the first minute or two in the elevator/waiting room.
After that we managed to meet up with the crew and get in line for Splash Mountain. And I was convinced to stay in line instead of ditching to wait in line to get my picture with Tigger. I love the animatronics on that ride, but I could so do without the hills. That or my inner ear problem needs to disappear. I felt sorry for the ladies in front of me as I ended up screaming (to keep my ears from popping & hurting) on all 3 hills – and I almost ran out of breath on the last one. Luckily the ride ends with Brer Rabbit – bunny! Yay! Happy! We then hurried out to get in line (after briefly looking at the hideous picture from the ride) for photos with Tigger. The were just coming back from break, and Tigger was the first character (the line wound past Tigger, Eyeore and then ended with Pooh). Tigger was silly and playful and we got some good photos – then we cut out of line, the other lady told us the line was the other way, and Tigger did a little dance and gave us high fives when I said we just wanted Tigger pictures.
Hehe. Hey, I know it’s just a guy in a suit, but make believe is still fun! =P
We had only ten minutes left on our FastPass window when we got to Indian Jones, but skipping the line was sooo nice! I didn’t realize that there were different routes until CS told me. I don’t remember much from last time, other than the long lines and that it was fun, but I do think that the route was different this time.
We spent the rest of the day going back and forth grabbing FastPasses for Roger Rabbit’s Wild Ride and later on for Autopia. In between we hit the Tea Cups before lunch and I made CS help me spin us crazy fast! Wheeeee! Everything was a blur – which CS didn’t see as he stared resolutely at the wheel. Hehe, revenge for that nasty hill on Splash Mountain. There was also Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride, Snow White’s Scary Adventure, some Pinocchio ride, and a Peter Pan one. I really enjoyed all of them. Oh, and we did it’s a Small World too to kill some time. We probably could have crammed more in, but I really enjoyed the nice leisurely pace. And the FastPasses made waiting in really bad lines pretty much non-existant. I loved walking almost to the front past a stand-by line with a 70 minute wait. We finished the day off with a bit of shopping, and I managed to not go too overboard – got a cute Thumper (bunnybunnybunny!) figurine and some magnetic photo frames and a Tigger magnet. Plus a great little Stitch plush magnet thingy for PH. Gotta get him omiyage, he never forgets me.
And he cat sat the whole weekend too.
We all met up at the big shop on Main Street, and I realized I’d only taken a couple photos, so I made everyone pose for a few more. But they got their revenge and made me get in some pictures too. Then it was off to dinner at this little hole in the wall Mexican food joint. The taco was great, but the guacamole sucked. Which was probably good since I had the tiniest upset tummy, and I would have eaten too much if the guac had been good. We pretty much went to sleep right away since CS insisted on waking up at 6:00am (on a vacation day!!!) so we could miss traffic. We left by 6:30 like he wanted, which worked out pretty well. Traffic did get bad, but we zoomed by it in the carpool lane – see ya suckers!
The ride back up was even more fun than the one down, although I was irked to not be able to get a plain hamburger and fries at McDonalds…. stupid breakfast menu. CS was happy to see they’re starting up Monopoly again. Although after finding a cavity at EA’s place he decided to cut back on soda. I managed to sleep the last hour of the trip home.
The rest of that afternoon and yesterday were spent relaxing and getting a few chores done – yuck – I really really hate going out and getting stuff done when it is hot. I really need to move somewhere cooler. Anyway, car is clean, so now I just need to figure out how to put on my new windshield wiper blades.
I did manage to add a couple more photos, but I’m having trouble with the site. Not sure if it is them or the laptop, so I’m going to try to put the rest up using a different computer.
Well, that’s all the detail that I consider interesting enough to share, at least out of the stuff I’m willing to share.
Now it is back to the grind.
Whoohoo! Photos updated!
I guess it was just the laptop. I finally managed to upload all my current photos. Sooner or later I’ll go back and put up my older ones too.
Being forced to think!
Ok, so I’m still going with yes on 68. And I found http://ca.lwv.org/ which has lots of info, so I guess sooner or later I’ll look into those ones I wasn’t sure about. Bleh.
Brief update – playing with photos
Last night was nice, mom & I went to the Mexican place I like (La Mision on Florin, behind the Jack in the Box) and split a small plate of nachos with beef. Yummy! And just the right amount of food too. For only $4.95 + $1.50 for the meat, so with tax & tip about $8-9 to feed both of us, and I don’t know about mom, but I stayed stuffed until I went to sleep. I’m going to work on photos for the rest of lunch, hopefully I’ll get most of them posted.
What if the hokey pokey really IS what it’s all about?
“You put your right foot in, you put your right foot out!” Hehe, I enjoyed that quote, so I thought I’d share. I wonder which is better for your health, an apple a day or a giggle a day? Maybe I should just do both!
Cuddle Party
Two good (well, I think they’re interesting!) new articles from Cuddle Party. I wish they were out here! If I ever hit the east coast, I’m going to one!
Voting stuff – props
I don’t care if you know how I plan to vote, and heck, if you can give me a good argument as to why I should vote differently, I might even change my mind!
Ok, so Prop 59, the con is pretty weak – it might not go far enough? Well this far is better than not at all, right??? So I guess I’m going with yes.
Prop 60, same thing – yes.
And the Prop 60A info is practically non-existant, can I just not vote on that one?
Prop 61 – Ok, yeah helping kids is good, but those hospitals can get money other ways too, and we’re still trying to get out of debt, aren’t we? No.
62 – cool! I never understood why we could only vote for the party we were registered for anyway. The con info sounds like alarmist scare tactics. Yes.
63 – I dunno
64 – I dunno (and no I don’t have the time or desire to research this stuff to figure it out, I’d rather just skip these ones I can’t decide easily)
65 – ok…. so I vote no on 65 and yes on 1A.
66 – gah, again dunno
67 – I think I’ll go with no on this one
68 – more money for the state sounds good, and I don’t care if they allow gambling (come on: lotto, bingo, racetracks, private card games, etc. – we already allow gambling!). Yes.
69 – yes
70 – I guess I’ll go no.
71 – again, aren’t we trying to get out of debt? Stem cell research will still get funding some way or another. No.
72 – Argh, choices. I think the idea is good, but I don’t know if it is executed properly. Maybe I just won’t vote on this one either.
1A – again with the argh…. although I think I’m leaning toward yes.
So anyone care to educate me or share their opinions?
