Bunny’s TMI

More than you ever wanted to know about what goes on in my life and my brain.

The wormwhole of cuteness?

Mom came up last night to stay at my place so she can go to a meeting in town today. Dad came over and brought the new puppy – Angel. We went to get a wireless card for his wife’s computer and then came back to play with the puppy & kitties. Angel is this tiny little 1 pound ball of fluff, sooooo cute! We took a ton of pictures, which I’ll post sooner or later – left my laptop at home today in the rush to leave on time, and mom was sleeping in the guest room/office where it was anyway. So the first thing angel does is start playing with the cat toys, like the little pink and blue mice that the kitties like to “kill.” Then she starts chasing the cats! Mind you, She’s 1 lb…. and Khalua is 10 lbs and Mocha 11 lbs. Angel does look twice her size with all that puffy fur, but seeing this tiny dog cornering my cats – one of whom used to regularly wrestle with Herbie (a 20 something lb mini-schnauzer!) – was just hilarious! They couldn’t figure out what this little thing was or what to do with it! Cookie just played aloof and ignored Angel, which was easy for her since she just sprawled out on the guest bed so she could be near us and relax. I think this would be a case of a picture being worth a thousand words, so I’ll have to try to post them soon. Mom finally got there late, but not before dad left, so Herbie to go see papa and he & mom got to meet Angel. I have a feeling Christmas is going to be a bit of a zoo – I’m hosting it this year, so we’ll have my 3 cats, plus 3 dogs between dad, his wife and mom. Luckily Herbie is the biggest dog. Tweetie (dad’s wife’s chihuahua) is only 3lbs. And Angel will get to be 5lbs max. Fun times at the animal farm!

So have I bored you to tears yet?

Ok, this is how flighty I am, and why EVERYTHING must be written down for me to remember (hence this blog). Mom told me a while back that she’s be coming up tonight to spend the night so she can go to this big meeting thing in Sac tomorrow. I got a form in the mail Saturday that I needed her to fill out and return asap…. so I mailed it to her yesterday…. and then went d’oh! When she called to remind me she was coming. I could have held onto the form and dropped it in the mail tomorrow with no worries about it getting to the tax people on time. Sigh… Oh well, it should still get there on time anyway, I just feel a bit silly. I even tried calling mom at work twice, but the line was busy both times, so I just dropped the form in the mail.

So if I ask you to repeat something so I can write it down (or type it up), please be patient and remember that I’m lucky to remember something 3 minutes later, let alone the next day, or week, or month. Which reminds me … updating calendar … done.

I’ve been meaning to create a scrapbook of my trip to Japan that I took the summer of 2001 – 3 years ago already! It was suggested to me that I blog it, which I think is a good idea before I forget any more than I already have. Oh, that would be a great way to kill time going to and from So. Cal. this weekend, I have a car adaptor for the laptop and that might actually keep me awake for the trip! Long car rides, heck, sometimes even “short” (30-45 minute) rides tend to put me to sleep whether I want to fall asleep or not.

I get to leave work early today for an eye appointment, but that means I had to drive myself today, but it wasn’t really that bad. I still managed to get up on time, mainly because I forgot I had to drive myself until I was almost ready to go anyway. And that managed to get me out the door early enough that traffic wasn’t terrible. Hmmm, appointment is at 4:30, so I guess I should leave around 3:30.

I tried the broccoli and chicken pot pie hot pockets…. and they have cheese in them, yuck! So that got passed off to PH and my lunch was a tangelo, some goldfish crackers and a See’s sugar stick. And I wonder why I have to take so many vitamins.

Ok, enough rambling, I’m going to go wander for the rest of lunch!

Public (Email) Service Announcement

Rules for forwarding emails:

Always check http://www.snopes.com first.

Always send it to yourself and add everyone else to BCC (blind carbon copy). Not everyone wants to share their email address with whoever ends up with that email.

Don’t forward chain mail – I think even through email chain mail is illegal – and I’m too lazy to google it right now to find out for sure. If you like the message and want to share, just copy and paste that part of the message – leave out the email addresses at the top and the “send this to X many people” stuff at the bottom. Those things ruin the good message you were trying to share.

Other email tips:

Start the email with at least the person’s name if not an actual greeting, just so they know that you actually meant to send the message to them. Or so they can tell you that you sent it to the wrong person.

Run spellcheck. Most email programs, even online ones, have it.

Don’t use your personal (ex. sexybeast@hotmail.com) email address for professional, work or school stuff. Your email will probably get deleted as spam.

That’s all my email pet peeves, uh, I mean tips, that I can think of at the moment. Happy typing!

Eye appointment & other musings

So I went to my eye appointment. Driving myself today sucked, and at my last appointment there was a different doctor filling in, but today Dr. Kaze was there and I remembered that I actually like him. So I’ll put it on my calendar to make an appointment in a year, and if they let me make a Saturday one again, then I’ll stick with him.

I was actually in the zone at work today and got a lot more done than I expected, although the day got off to a bit of a rough start with an annoying over-reacting instant message from an ex. Oh well, his problem, not mine. And although I’m sure venting here would feel good, I’m happy restraining myself to venting to CS because I don’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings. I prefer to stick with the happy, silly, friendly me on here, and I’m more than willing to forget the bad stuff that goes on in my life – for the most part.

So I’m actually blogging now because I finished my (yummy normal chicken & peas & carrots & no cheese!) pot pie hot pocket for dinner and I’m waiting for dad to show up so we can figure out what to buy so he can set up his wife’s computer to wirelessly share his dsl. Then if we get that figured out, we might go out to try to buy the stuff. Tomorrow I’ll have to find the emails I saved at work about securing a wireless network, I figured I’d need them sooner or later. Papa is bringing over his puppy too, so I’ll finally get to meet her. Although I’m not quite so sure about taking her shopping with us. I know leaving her in the car would be bad, and I don’t think leaving her alone at home (she’s not housetrained yet…..) would work well either. So maybe we won’t go shopping after all. That or I’ll make dad hold her because I’d feel guilty – most places don’t allow pets, and sure, maybe they won’t call us on it, but I’d feel bad anyways. That’s just how my conscience works.

Hmm, either the spell check doesn’t work, or I’m just a really good speller, I’m not sure which.

The Weekend is Over Already?!?

Oh, actually before I forget, I think it was Wednesday night that the power went out on me? I was in bed and heard this loud thunk, and I thought is was the kitties until all the power in the house went out. I poked my head outside and saw that the neighbors had lights, so I checked the circuit breakers and found them all switched to off, so I turned them back on and went inside to reset the clocks. I was pretty freaked out, but I called PH and he said the sound was probably the breakers switching and that it was probably a power surge from the electric company. So that kinda sucked a bit.

Anyway this weekend I felt all blah and ended up sleeping till 9 or 10am and then napping from about 12-5, and I didn’t crawl out of bed till 6. I did end up running to home depot with my neighbor, but I was feeling all blah when I got home. Luckily a decent night’s sleep seemed to cure me.

I tried to put down the stepping stones I bought for my lawn, but it wasn’t working too well as I kept hitting tree roots. So most of them I just left lying on the lawn. Maybe they’ll just work themselves in as they get used. Especially during rainy season. Fingers crossed. I didn’t manage to plant any of my bulbs or do laundry. So bulbs will have to wait, but laundry is my goal tonight. And dishes. And maybe some filing. Lofty goals, eh? And I’ve somehow managed to use up my whole lunch hour already, so I guess pictures can wait yet again.

Oh, and CS & I watched Starsky & Hutch last night, I wasn’t expecting to like it, but I actually enjoyed it. Almost made me want to see some of the original tv show, but not badly enough to actually do anything about it. :) Oh yeah! And CS gave me this beautiful little silver necklace Saturday that he picked up way back in January or February when he was on a cruise to Mexico with his family. I was so surprised, especially considering how picky I am about jewelry, but I haven’t taken it off since except to shower. Can you shower with silver on or is the water bad for it? I don’t want it to tarnish. Guess I should google it. :)

Yawn….. sweepy……

Stayed up too late last night watching Man From Snowy River – good old disney movie. Work is going well today, I just started getting somewhat tired, maybe I’ll attempt to get a quick nap in before lunch ends. Had fun last night getting pictures of PH’s “baby” last night.

Excitement!

Well, as much as we get here at work. The power was out for over 2 hours – which I take is a record. There was an explosion in a manhole over by the Tercero dorms where they’re doing some construction. It took a bit to get the smoke cleared out and start fixing things. Apparently workers were trying to connect power underground, smelled gas, evacuated and the manhole blew up shortly thereafter. And now there are only 2 hours left in the day! Way to shake up a friday. :) Then tonight is off to dinner with CS & his mom.Followed by a relaxing weekend at home.
