As of Dec. 1 if you live in CA (and some other states) you can get 1 copy of your credit report for free from all three of the credit reporting agencies: https://www.annualcreditreport.com
Why should you do this? To make sure there aren’t any errors, and to make sure you aren’t the victim of fraud. And if either is the case, to correct that.
