Bunny’s TMI

So the place near me charges 49.95 and they’ll give $10 off… but they charge additional for the certificate (another $8.95). I remembered seeing lots of $20-25 coupons, so I decided to wait and go elsewhere. Found a coupon for $18.95 ($27 total with certificate). Tried to go on the Friday I had off…. but their machine was broken. So Sunday I called again…. machine still broken. So I start calling around and finally find a place that will do it for $40 total… but when I showed up right after calling they said they were closed… and looked at my DMV thing and pointed out I needed to go to a test-only center. (DMV makes 20% of people go to a test only center, not sure what the reasoning is). So he recommended someone else and gave me a coupon. So now I get to rush to this place after work (he’s going to wait for me thankfully since I called) and pay $45 total. Sheesh, I should have just gone to that first place and saved myself all this hassle and been done already. Sigh….. So I’ve learned my lesson and I’m putting it here to remind myself if need be. At least Friday I can go register down at AAA instead of mailing it or going down to the DMV. And I can pick up a free map. I wonder which one I should get?

Oh, and all this makes me just want a Toyota Prius even more. They’re going for $17-18k right now, so hopefully my car will last long enough for the prices to drop and me to do some saving, I’d rather save up and not have a car payment if possible.

Friday night I played some WoW then started baking & cleaning. Got the cake & brownies made and the next morning I went for my haircut and came back to jump into a cleaning frenzy. I managed to get all the major stuff done with CS’s help that morning and the night before so I could catch the last of Happy Lesson with MM. CS & one his roomies got to work on the decorating, and CS had already blown up the 5 foot tall monkey (the birthday decorations were Tiki themed) and I had filled the pinata.

The birthday girl was totally suprised, so mission accomplished. They had some trouble with the pinata – so the poor thing was beat with the bat, and when it wouldn’t divulge the candy they resorted to stomping it to death.

Lots of video games were played (King Kong Bongo, multiplayer Pac-Man and some others) and we got in some rounds of Muppets Uno followed by Settlers of Catan: Knights & Cities. And I finally beat the Evil Empire and MM! Woohoo! I’m done. I don’t need to beat those two again ever. Especially since they’ll now be watching out for me. Hehehe.

We missed a few of our friends who couldn’t make it. But I think everyone had a good time, I know I certainly did – and not just because of the smirnoff ice & the mudslides I had. I was really happy to see all my different friends finally meet and getting along so well.

I spent most of Sunday playing WoW after sleeping in late to recover from the party. I failed to get my car smogged – so that was a wasted hour or so – but then JP(San Jose) got me a really tasty sandwich from Togos and my woes were forgotten. And CS brought me steak and taters from Cattlemen’s where they’d taken the birthday girl for dinner. I think next time I do a big party like this I’ll actually plan for dinner – probably just spaghetti & garlic bread.

My new laptop is supposed to arrive according to the FedEx tracking web site. Hope hope hope!!!

I think I’ll be playing WoW or watching netflix most of this week after work. And I work Friday since Monday was a holiday. Which means the plans to go out to some bar with friends Thursday night is out. But Saturday is a game day, so Friday night I’ll be getting ready for that with some last minute cleaning and such. And I have a haircut Saturday morning too.

My devious plan with getting the new laptop and my own WoW account is this. WoW runs on my pc. WoW will run on the laptop. So CS & I can relax in my den with the kitties and play WoW together. CS get’s his WoW and I get my WoW and kitties. Everybody is happy! At least that is the goal. I’m also going to try doing what I did Christmas Eve and use WoW as motivation to do chores and errands. Get a level or finish a quest – go do a chore. Repeat. It’s better than when I’d try to read just one more chapter in a book – I wouldn’t even see the chapter header go by, and I’d realize half-way through the next chapter… which I’d then want to finish… and then I’d do it all over again and end up reading till my eyes were ready to fall out or I finished the book. You can’t miss getting a level or finishing a quest in WoW so it’s easy to stop and run a load of laundry or dishes.

Other news, some of the new irises and crocuses (not sure those are the correct plurals) that I planted are starting to bloom! And my calla lily and one of the first irises I planted are getting ready to bloom too. Also, the plants I moved out of the den into a 1/2 wine barrel out front seem to be doing much better. They were struggling for a bit after the trauma of being moved, but now they’re happier to be outdoors with much more room to grow. And my compost finally came in handy to fill most of the bottom of the barrel before putting down potting soil. Now I just have to fight the darn slugs and snails. I need to buy bait to trap & kill them. I hate them more than any other critter – and that’s just for being slimy & ugly. Then they go hurt my pretty flowers! Die evil scum, die!!

Also, my friend DN will be around the first couple weeks in March so I’m helping to make plans for those weekends. I’m thinking maybe even a lan party which we haven’t had in ages.

It’s the weekend, a four day one for me in fact. =P

So let’s see if I still remember the last few days.

Mom & my brother came up Thursday night and we went to breakfast at IHOP Friday morning. Then mom and I stopped by Goodwill to look for stuff and drop things off. Mom didn’t find what we were looking for so we tried Home Depot. They had what we wanted online, but not in stock. They left early to beat traffic and I went over to CS’s to play some WoW.

We decided to get me a new laptop and a copy of WoW so we could play together instead of taking turns. We lucked out and found a copy of WoW at the Apple Store – they’ve stopped selling new ones till they get the servers all happy. And my laptop is ordered and should be here by the 2nd.

Saturday CS & I stopped by my place for chores. Fun. Good to get them done though.

CS and I also went to see Constantine sunday morning. I liked it. And that night we went to dinner with friends at Black Angus, YUM! Great potato soup too. And strawberry-raspberry lemonade. Mostly played WoW this weekend though. And was happy to get it running on my computer at home! So I started my new account and we got to play our little gnome mage & warlock together.

And it’s back to work this week and a short weekend coming up.
