Moment of fame

Wednesday, March 16th, 2005

CS has had his moment of fame here: http://www.pointsincase.com/quotes.htm
Under Wednesday’s quotes. And just for posterity:

“I’d wear a bra if it were crafted by lasers.”
CS, on cross dressing requirements
California State University, Sacramento

Submitted by one of his roommates without telling him. Hehehe. And yes, he makes me laugh, one of the reasons I adore him. :)

And the resulting conversation:

Bunny: where did that come from???
Bunny: hehehe
CS: think we were talking about Victoria Secret catalog or something
CS: AJ was with JR
CS: and was talking about bras or lasers or something
CS: it just came out
Bunny: lol
Bunny: maybe bras & “lace”? not lasers…. hehehe

Khalua really is a goat.

Which I’ve known for a while and is very appropriate with her devil kitty status (goats are one of the symbols used for the devil…), but the other night she out-did herself. She eats most food (kitty or people kind) and any plant and string. But a couple nights ago I found out the “fun” way (when cleaning the litter box) that she ate some of the plastic from one of the balloons left from the birthday party/game day. I tried to throw away all the pieces from popped balloons but I obviously missed some. So Khalua has taken her goatness to a whole new level.

On a side note… I still have a ton of balloons floating around my house from the party. JR donated many of the balloons that his girlfriend filled his car with for Valentine’s Day. It’s now a month later and a few are finally starting to lose some of their air. I’m waiting for them all to shrink enough to toss since I hate the sound of them popping…. and as I typed that I remembered how to pop them! Put on a piece of tape and then poke a needle through that. Yay! Hehehe, balloons, tonight you die!!!

A friend sent me this: http://www.punkasspunk.com/caffeine.php
Which lead me to discover this: http://www.phancy.com/me/archive.php
I’d seen someone else do the daily photo thing, and another someone some of the peep stuff some years back as a design student. Funny stuff in a weird way, now I find myself wondering why I didn’t bookmark the originals…

Wisdom from Suess

“Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don’t matter, and those who matter don’t mind.” Dr. Suess

Albert said it….

“The intuitive mind is a sacred gift and the rational mind is a faithful servant. We have created a society that honors the servant and has forgotten the gift.”

Well if you insist.

Watch High Fidelity with one of my fave actors. Good, but not his best. Furniture evaluation with PH. Roleplay (of the dice and tabletop sort) with friends. Play WoW. Watch Irresponsible Captain Tylor OVA (3rd part of the series). Get rocks from a friend from his yard to mine. Weed and put down said rock. Chores and more WoW.

And now Princess SP sent me this: http://www.omlet.co.uk and I have thoughts of being a housewife and cooking and gardening (including a vegetable garden – and chicken for eggs and pest eating) running through my head. I’m wondering if chickens eat snails and slugs mostly – for the sake of my poor flowers that are slowly being destroyed as they bloom.

Tech Style!

I swung by the campus bookstore during lunch and picked up a laptop stand (http://www.dexiadesign.com) and keyboard cover (http://www.iskin.com) and screen cleaner (http://klearscreen.com/ – hi CS’s mom’s friends!) for my powerbook. So the last thing I need is a Kensington lock for it. I also had someone stop by and ask if I did contract work on the side, so I now have a logo design job, yay!

Addictions and lessons

Wednesday, March 9th, 2005

I’ve always known that reading & books could easily be considered an addiction. I recently (as in last night… well, technically this morning) realized that I need to reign it under control a bit more by substituting another addiction – WoW. I already avoid bookstores and libraries as much as possible and just let my parents supply me with the used books they’ve already read. But now I have to swear off reading except for on the weekends so last night doesn’t repeat itself. I wanted to read a bit before bed… but I started early enough to get close to the end and into the best parts… so I couldn’t put it down until I finished it at 2:30am…. Needless to say I was exhausted this morning and plan to go to bed right after I eat dinner when I get home. So now I’ll have to restrict myself to watching videos and playing WoW. Both of which have obvious stopping points that let me get myself to bed on time. I.E. the movie or episode ends, or I finish whatever quest or goal I’m working on in WoW. And as there really isn’t an “end” to WoW I don’t feel the need to finish it like I do with a really good book. I know I can always go back for more. Addiction runs in the family, I just try to stick to ones that don’t adversely affect my health and that I can at least somewhat control. Exhausting myself reading late on a work night is definitely not good for my health. And people say video games are bad for you! Hehe.

Weekend plans:
gardening – need to plant those seeds!
getting together with friends in S.J. and roleplaying.
taking ground cover rocks off of a friend’s hands and putting them in my front yard
recuperating from all that!

Quote of the day

“I expect to pass through this world but once. Any good, therefore, that I
can do or any kindness I can show to any fellow creature, let me do it now.
Let me not defer or neglect it for I shall not pass this way again.”

Bunny PSA for MSN Messenger Users

Monday, March 7th, 2005

FYI… There are a couple of new virises just discovered, that spread via Windows/MSN Messenger.

- Symantec Bulletin: W32.Kelvir.B
- Symantec Bulletin: W32.Serflog.A
- Trend Micro bulletin

The Kelvir worm appears as a message from another person with a teaser such as “hot pic!!” or “OMG look at this!!!” Following that line is a URL pointing to a PIF file. Upon delivery of its payload, it attempts to disable DCOM.
