<3 Nagiko for finding and sharing this.

Things that make me happy.

Riding my bike and feeling the cool evening air on my skin and in my hair.

Getting home and finding out my hot water is on so I can take a hot bath and soak my aching muscles.

Having a fridge full of food and drinks from Safeway.com.

Coming home to the meows.

Weekend plans

Saturday, August 26th, 2006

Well, my muscles were so sore from this week that I came home and went right to sleep, so I’m going to unpack some this morning, grab boxes from work, then head to the old place and pack everything I missed and hope folks come by and buy some of the stuff I’m getting rid of. I’ll probably spend the night there to be sure I’m there by 8am since the movers are coming between 8-12. Then it’s move the big stuff, and clean the old place and hopefully toss it on the market Monday.

And speaking of laptop….

More cute stuff to covet!

A kitty pill case – something I might try to make myself

Penguin Thermos!! Again, probably something I could paint/make myself

Penguin Ice Scraper for frost on the car windows…. I need one anyway…. :D

Mini-garden – it’s cute… and edible? I’m mostly just curious about it.

Frog tape dispenser – cute, but I think maybe a bit too silly for me. That, and that tongue is kinda scary.

Turtle key chain – as if I didn’t have enough bunnies and penguins…. turtles are growing on me now too!

Handy teaspoon/filters.

I have a digital timer already… but this blue ladybug timer is so cute!

And animal shaped ice cubes – how can you go wrong?

I just like the silicone kitchen stuff, but most of what I see is black or red for some reason. Blue! 75% of American’s favorite color is BLUE!!!! Why can’t stuff be offered in blue? Stupid IKEA rugs……

And I love stuff to keep my hands busy, like these Magnetude Play Art thingys, whatever they are.

Ok, and maybe I just like this for the scroll tentacles, but I like these squid whisks (#1).

And totally off topic. But Tom and I were both right about alabaster. It is a soft substance that they carve stuff out of (not just the color like I thought), BUT! It’s not stone, it’s a type of gypsum: a widely distributed mineral consisting of hydrous calcium sulfate. I said the material the lamps were made out of was somewhat related to shells (calcium!). So we were both right and both wrong.

Meow meow!

This list, and more can be found at:
http://www.xmission.com/~emailbox/humor.htm

Make the world your playground.
Whenever you miss the sandbox, cover it up. Dragging a sock over it helps.
If you can’t get your way, lay across the keyboard till you do.
When you are hungry, meow loudly so they feed you just to shut you up.
Always find a good patch of sun to nap in.
Nap often.
When in trouble, just purr and look cute.
Life is hard, and then you nap.
Curiosity never killed anything except maybe a few hours.
When in doubt, cop an attitude.
Variety is the spice of life. One day, ignore people; the next day, annoy them.
Climb your way to the top, that’s why the curtains are there.
Make your mark in the world, or at least spray in each corner.
Always give generously; a bird or rodent left on the bed tells them, “I care”.

My poor laptop!

https://support.apple.com/ibook_powerbook/batteryexchange/

I filled in the form for a new battery. Please don’t catch fire!

Excerpt:

Apple has determined that certain lithium-ion batteries containing cells manufactured by Sony Corporation of Japan pose a safety risk that may result in overheating under rare circumstances.

The affected batteries were sold worldwide from October 2003 through August 2006 for use with the following notebook computers: 12-inch iBook G4, 12-inch PowerBook G4 and 15-inch PowerBook G4.

Apple is voluntarily recalling the affected batteries and has initiated a worldwide exchange program to provide eligible customers with a new replacement battery, free of charge. This program is being conducted in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and other international safety authorities.

Cute flower rings

Rings are one of the few bits of jewelry I do wear regularly.
