Disneyland!
Thursday, February 2nd, 2006New Years
Sunday, January 1st, 2006Stayed up all night the night before New Years Eve watching movies and anime. Donnie Darko was slightly less creepy and much more interesting than I thought it would be (though I’m still glad I didn’t watch it alone) and Full Metal Alchemist seems interesting so far. New Years Eve was more WoW then getting the princess into Ranma 1/2 and having a yummy champagne concoction with cherries and syrup and sugar that I actually liked even though I normally hate champagne as much as beer and wine. After they went home I WoWed some more and got to see the very nifty fireworks show they added.
My tummy is still being fairly iffy even with the new meds, but I’m eating more than I was and I finally have plenty of pepto to last for a while. Only four more days till I see my guy and we can try switching me to something that doesn’t bother my stomach like this.
Happy New Year too all my friends and loved ones!
Oh, and I didn’t manage to do cards or emails for Christmas this year, so I guess I’ll be doing Valentine’s Day cards instead.
Holiday Par-tay
Wednesday, December 14th, 2005Before I forget to do this (again!), here’s the rundown on the Christmas party I had Saturday Dec. 3rd. PH showed up early and helped me run around getting the last minute cleaning done. JP & SP were the first to show after that and we got into watching some of my Christmas DVDs of the Rankin & Bass stuff like Santa Claus is Coming to Town and The Little Drummer Boy. JL made it and proclaimed that he’d “do” Jessica (the future Mrs. Claus). We all joked about the psychadelic song scene she has that none of us remember from the tv version. I managed to get JL to help me decorate the tree after I finished putting lights on. I decided to slack off some this year and we (meaning he and later BH’s old roommate) only put up a fraction of my ornaments.
More people showed up and we got into cookie baking and playing games. TC beat me at bean farmer by just 2 gold! I can’t remember what order we played games in, but we got into a few rounds of my muppet uno using our house rules (jumping in and stacking draws). I need to get a copy of Fluxx for next game day. The gift exchange went well too, not much stealing went on. TC got a light saber tree topper. Ok, not really, but I’m sure they could use it for that too. I got a neat little top with a holder and string you use to spin it. Only the next day there was only 2 inches of string left. I wonder where it went. (Hint: devil kitty’s tummy.) There were no disturbingly bad gag gifts like the creature I ended up with last year.
Summary: Movies! Neat. Cookies! Yum. Games! Fun. Gifts! Yay. All done!
Thanksgiving
Wednesday, November 30th, 2005Wednesday: I got off around 3 and ended up taking surface streets to avoid the horrific traffic on 80 East getting home. Snuck in some WoW time and then picked up my brother from the Greyhound station when he arrived.
Thursday: I drove us up to my dad’s new place in Lake Shastina, traffic was nice and light and it was wonderfully overcast the whole way there. We hung out and had a nice dinner.
Friday: We went to some other town to check out a couple stores and I got some fiber optic gems and some crystals and rocks. I fell in love with a huge chunk of Titanium Quartz Crystal…. only $11,000. :/
Saturday: Drove back early to get my brother to the bus on time for work that night. PH came over and helped me put my tree together and we went to Sears and I finally got myself the KitchenAid stand mixer I’ve been wanting for years. I got a couple Christmas dvds, one of which I had already and need to go return.
Sunday: Just slacked off playing WoW mostly. I woke up late for the event I was supposed to run, did that, and then went off on a looooong group through most of BRD.
Monday: Watched anime with MM and helped him bake my everything cookies for a meeting.
Tuesday: Watched Zoolander, it was ok.

Hmmm.
Sunday, November 20th, 2005Well, my work week was good as I finally got to switch our site over to the new template!
Saturday I tried to go to this training thing…. but the lady told me the wrong hotel, and when I got home and found out the right hotel, in my rush to try to make it on time I locked myself out of the house. So instead I caught the Harry Potter movie with a friend which was good. But after eating and then going home for a nap I had Harry Potter themed nightmares, ugh.
I also found out that the relationship stuff that I was hoping for… but sorta figured wasn’t going to happen… isn’t going to. I hate being right.
And I realized that this will be my first Christmas in seven years with no boyfriend… and the family won’t be all together for Thanksgiving or Christmas now since dad just moved. So this is looking to be a quiet and somewhat depressing season when normally it’s my favorite time of year.
Yes, I’m a geek (aka V-day all your base)
Tuesday, February 15th, 2005V-day report
Tuesday, February 15th, 2005Prior to Valentine’s Day when asked what my plans were my response was: I don’t know, CS is cooking me dinner but everything else is a surprise.
So now I know what the surprise was and can rave about my wonderful Valentine’s Day!
CS met me at my place (and took care of the kitties for me beforehand – food & litter) to take me back to his. So I got to ride to his place anticipating the surprise and enjoying being chauffered around (which I love since I hate driving with a desperate passion). I had been missing it actually since for the last two weekends I’d mostly driven myself. And of course I drove myself to work all last week and yesterday. So I was feeling particularly burned out on driving again. We spent most of the drive talking about romance and what it is.
On the way from the car to his place he claimed that he found my gift to him, and being gullible and trusting as I am I believed him… so he managed to trick me into telling him what part of his gift was. A little love monkey – it’s white with a red heart and a red lip print on it’s cheek. And he already read my love poem and got the gift I sent throught WoW mail early. He opened it before reading the “Don’t Open till Valentine’s Day!” in the subject line. So his dwarf was quite drunk for a while.
Once we got to his apartment he made me close my eyes. I felt a bit silly, mostly because one of his roommates was there, but it was fun. When he let me open my eyes I got to see my surprise finally. I was so busy kissing him thank you that I didn’t actually tak it all in at first. He had a dozen red roses in a vase surrounded with baby’s breath (which I think is really pretty). A super soft white teddy bear next to the bouquet. He had two candles burning in the center of the table and pink and red balloons on the ends. There was also a big gold box which and an incredibly sweet card. As soon as he started making dinner I dug into the box and found Sherrie’s Berries (fancy absolutely delicious chocolate covered strawberries) and another little teddy bear. And I couldn’t resist trying to get one of the balloons to stick to his head with static cling, but it didn’t work too well. It was fun trying though.
We then had pasta for dinner – after I got to enjoy watching him in the kitchen as he prepared dinner while I relaxed on the sofa. He even picked up one of my favorite sodas to have with dinner – the Henry Weinhard’s root beer. And I managed to save room for more strawberries. After that we packed up and headed back to my house for the night. And the rest I’ll just have to remember without writing it down.
Also, my friend Princess SP made me an adorable little valentine, and PH got me a rose and a pretty vase… well, he says it was for Cookie, but I’m the one who’ll appreciate it. And I made my own little flash e-card to send to my friends and family.
So today my little strawberry bear is sitting next to me and the flowers are on my desk where I can stop and smell them every time I get up from my desk.
So the end of my story is that this is the best Valentine’s Day I can remember having, and I think the best part was that he planned it all and surprised me.
Happy Valentine’s Day!
Monday, February 14th, 2005Catching up to the new year
Monday, January 3rd, 2005Today is January 3rd, so let’s see if I can remeber back to Dec. 23rd. I think Jourdan & I were practically the only ones here at work. We got in a few games of online settlers (http://jsettlers.com) and then were allowed to go home at 2pm. CS let me borrow his computer, so I settled in for some WoW alternated with a bit of cleaning.
Christmas eve followed that pattern as I got ready for company the next day. WoW – Chores – WoW – Chores.
Christmas day was fun and only a tad hectic. I played WoW till mom & her guy (D) & my brother & my mom’s renter showed up. With mom’s dog, D’s dog & kitten in tow. Due to the dogs showing up, a large hole in my fence was discovered – and the neighbor’s large (luckily friendly) dog who made it. It took him 3-4 days to actually fix the fence after promising to do it that night. He was lucky animal services didn’t answer the phone and that he got home before they did the 2nd time I called the homeowner to complain. I like dogs, but large ones barking at my glass door to be let in or fed & pooing in my backyard is not something I was willing to put up with long.
So lots of excitement with all the animals, dad & his wife brought their puppy too, so 7 people, 4 cats & 3 dogs enjoyed a happy holiday and tasty meal together.
The day after CS & I left for his grandma’s in Danville & we stayed there hanging out with his family and some friends back on break until his dentist appointment tuesday. Wednesday was the real start of my vacation, and almost all of it was spent reading or playing WoW. I got up to level 20 and got my cat form, which was my goal.
New year’s eve was spent at my place with friends playing board & card games with a toast at midnight – and then back to the WoW.
Fun trick – in this sentence, replace “crack” with “World of Warcraft” and “hit” with “level”:
Crack is very addicting. After you get a hit, you feel high, but after a while it wears off and leaves you wanting another hit.
So far no one has disagreed. But now it’s back to the regular work schedule and I’ll only get to play a few hours on the weekend now. Probably for the best.
Of special note: Momma now own’s her store! And I should be debt free by the end of this month or near the beginning of the next!
Things I’m proud of – I managed to cut back on my Christmas expenses this year. Sent out the cookies I promised late, but still before Christmas. Sent out fewer Christmas cards this year and got all but one (for lack of a stamp) mailed before Christmas. Actually relaxed on my vacation.
Things I wish I’d done – remembered to send out Christmas e-cards to all my friends & family. Remembered to call everyone to wish them a Merry Christmas &/or Happy New Year.
So all in all, I think last year was a good one, and this one is getting off to an awesome start!
