Tongue twisters, vocal warmups, speech therapy fun!

We are big fans of What a To Do, mostly because we first learned it from a close family friend.

I have auditory processing difficulty so I went looking for the text to read and found this:

https://www.kith.org/words/2007/02/10/what-a-todo-to-die-today/

It has where it originally came from and also another fun tongue twister we’ve used in drama class for vocal warmups.

Practicing tongue twisters is one way to make repeating words over and over more fun for speech therapy (SLP) and is a good reason to really enunciate – as is drama class/practice if your kid enjoys it.

And browsing that kith site I found my fun new word of the day:

Eggcorn!

noun

  • a word or phrase that results from a mishearing or misinterpretation of another, an element of the original being substituted for one that sounds very similar or identical (e.g. tow the line instead of toe the line ).

Or eggcorn instead of acorn (egg with an acorn cap image is what I will always picture now)!
